I have a blanket that my mother crocheted for me when I was about 10 and it is, without question, my favorite 'thing.' The reason is obvious--she made it for me with loving hands and though she's been gone for a very long time, using that blanket is, for me, an embrace. Though I'd never articulated it before now, she really is still its owner. And that very thought brings the sweetest tears.

Thank you for this post.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5927428847402560.post-78743865707126778622011-10-28T07:31:16.711-07:002011-10-28T07:31:16.711-07:00ahhhhhh YES so glad YOU ARE HERE ON GBE 2!! hehe l...ahhhhhh YES so glad YOU ARE HERE ON GBE 2!! hehe love this and of course this comment got me giggling

the exception of wearing my sisters tights,

LOL yes yes to give with no thoughts of return; GO DYLAN and glowing Mark! It has happened more than once and I have been dismayed or even hurt. I am now thinking that was very selfish of me, the gift once given is gone. I need to learn to relinquish ownership.
Except when the gift is love...that is always owned by the giver to be removed or continued at the givers desire.
Excellent post and I do love the poetry of Dylan.Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18285427147723972295noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5927428847402560.post-73236216044570760422011-10-27T10:59:23.974-07:002011-10-27T10:59:23.974-07:00This was a very beautiful post.
